ACC signs MOU with NAFDAC

Hard times await pirates and counterfeiters as ACC has inked an MoU (Memoran­dum of Understanding) with NAFDAC. The event, which happened recently at the Four Points by Sheraton, Lekki, Lagos, was graced by stakeholders in the music, manufacturing and pharmaceuti­cal industries during the 6th anti- Counterfeiting Collaboration (ACC) Roundtable in Lagos.
Commenting, a former chairman of the NGO, Tee Mac said: “This MoU marks a new era in the war against counterfeiting and piracy. All those who have been infringing the intellectual works of musicians and intellectual property owners, manufacturers of counterfeit products and pharmaceuticals are in for a hard time as ACC and NAFDAC are coming after them.”
Also, the Director of Enforcement, NAFDAC, Kingsley Ejiofor, said the MoU will help in reducing the prolif­eration of sub-standard products in the country.
Ejiofor said NAFDAC and other stakeholders are working to together to tackle the proliferation of fake products and disclosed that there is a federal task force on counterfeiting.
